Motovun - Airport Transfer from Zagreb Airport (Pleso) to Motovun in Istria

Motovun is the biggest of the typical Istrian fortress towns and offers probably the most beautiful panorama view of the region.

Motovun is a picture book perfect town. The town is built on a 277 meter high, steep hill. If you are standing in the first town gate you can look all along the Mirna Valley down to the towns of Oprtalj and Groanjan. You should take a walk along the city walls to enjoy an unforgettable view over the vineyards of the area.

Among the many interesting buildings in Motovun the imposing town tower from the 14th century, the clock tower with its tin roof from the 13th century and the Church of St. Stephan that was built in the 16th century by the famous architect Andrea Palladio, could well be the most interesting.

About this medieval town with its ancient defensive system a lot of beautiful stories and legends are told. The most famous of them are about a giant from Motovun: Veli Joze.

Something very different but not less interesting is the house where Mario Andretti, the former Formula 1 driver, was born.

Close to Motovun, in the direction of Buzet, you can find the thermal spa of “ "Istarske Toplice". A vertical rock tops this little thermal spa in which you can enjoy mud baths and hot sulphuric springs
